Might this "crextp4j" be keeping my herdProtect from initiating a scan? When I click on the links to scan and scan and remove, the icon does not appear and no scan

Try reinstalling Herd protect or if you have not already, try going into your windows programs for uninstalling and uninstall the Crept that way.. which probably will not work. to be honest. But, I have been able to find a few persistent ones by typing them in on my program icon, (bottom left), the name and locating the program, right click and go in and remove it manually. If you are un familiar with this, try asking someone you know who is to help. wish I could do more. - Dee 128 months ago
